Tavana is super excited to be featuring Yoza on May 23rd at 9 p.m. at Crossroads Hawaiian Brian's! Yoza began learning to play the ukulele at age 5 and by the time she turned 10 had performed with world renowned ukulele master, Roy Sakuma. Not being bound by one instrument she began playing saxophone at age 12, which eventually led to a full musical scholarship to Hawai'i Pacific University. In 2013 Yoza released her highly anticipated debut album, self-titled 'Yoza.' For the album she received 3 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, taking home the award for 'R&B Album of the Year!' In 2016, Yoza released her second album, 'Prologue,' which was recorded and mixed at the historic Carriage House Studios. Since then, Yoza has been performing at the Blue Note in Waikiki, headlining the Blue Mountain Ukelele Festival in Australia, and wowing her audiences with her rich, sultry vocals and groovy guitar licks. Check her out below!
