Tavana is incredibly excited to be welcoming guitar virtuoso - Tommy Osuna - back to the stage on Tuesday, May 2nd at Crossroads Hawaiian Brian's. "Tommy the Swami" has a long and storied career having performed with the likes of Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, and Jamaican Reggae legend, Earl "Chinna" Smith. On third album, 'Trippin,' Tommy enlisted rock/blues/funk legend Buddy Miles who was Jimi Hendrix's drummer in Band of Gypsies, as well as legendary bassist and film score-composer John Piscitello. The resulting album is nothing short of magic - smoking-hot guitar riffs and an almost too-solid bottom end. Tommy and Buddy were making plans to tour together when the legendary drummer unexpectedly passed away at age 60, making Trippin' the last album of Buddy's career. Tommy now lives on Oahu where he runs the Osuna School of Music which focuses mainly on mentoring young people through music - teaching musical theory, composition, and self-expression in lyric, rhythm, and overall music and personal development. He also gives music lessons to adults, so drop him a line and get yourself a lesson from the Swami himself! Tommy regularly performs all over the island solo, with his band 'Roxotica', and with his wife, Brenda (...who plays a mean dulcimer!) and continues to work as a music producer having recorded over twenty independent releases for other artists. You can check out his mean chops below on his song I E BO BO: The last time Tavana and Tommy played together it had the audience on their feet, tearing their hair out with excitement!...This show is surely not to be missed!
