Tavana is pleased to announce that he will be re-featuring - by intense popular demand - the iconic Barry Flanagan from HAPA on April 4th at 9 p.m. at Crossroads Hawaiian Brian's. Barry Flanagan is the founder of the internationally acclaimed and award winning World Music group HAPA. The group's self-entitled first release in 1994 still remains the number one selling recording by a group or duo in the history of recorded Hawaiian music, sweeping all six categories it was nominated for at the 1994 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, the Hawaiian equivalent of the Grammy's. The L.A. times has called Barry Flanagan and HAPA's music, 'Powerful, urgent, compelling, muscular, hypnotic!' Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Stephen Stills has said, 'Flanagan is Masterful!', and the San Francisco Chronicle wrote that, 'Flanagan and Hapa explore the rich possibilities of Hawaiian music and then some, blending a variety of pop and world music styles.'
