About the Guest of Honor Carlos "I always dreamed to surf & live in Hawaii, and after a lot of hard work and persistence, the Good Lord provided me an opportunity & I have done all I can do to honor the privilege of the chance to live in this beautiful place with the good people that live here. I feel truly blessed and fortunate to complete 34 years in Hawaii where our family flourished & I was able to form lasting friendships. I came to the Island in Jan of 1984 & first time I surfed in Hawaii was a small Pipeline day w/ a borrowed board from a guy I just met on the beach, who became a good fried, and together in 1988 we organized the 1st 10' Plus Brazilian Nuts Invitational at Pipeline, where the Hawaiians allowed an all Brazilian contest at Pipeline. The short video here is one wave ridden by me, but there are better ones in the 4 minute intro I'll show at the party. Hope to see everyone there!"

hanks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience of mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
